Weekend du 21 et 22 mars 2015 : Pluie, pluie, pluie et semi-marathon

Ce weekend était un weekend de repos car dimanche était le jour de notre semi-marathon !

Et oui, je m'étais inscrite et Séb a suivi !

Samedi

Farniente aujourd'hui ... Séb a profité pour se mettre à jour dans le traitement de certaines photos.
Nous avons peaufiné nos futures excursions...
Et pi en début d'après-midi, on s'est dit qu'on retournerait bien au GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art) pour voir l'exposition de David Lynch.

On a donc pris le ferry, notre transport en commun préféré. On est tellement bien sur la Brisbane River ;-)
Au loin, on pouvait apercevoir des gros nuages et optimistiquement, nous nous sommes dit qu'on avait choisit la bonne activité. On serait au sec dans le musée...

Oui mais pour cela, fallait avoir le temps d'y arriver au GOMA. A peine sortis du ferry, il a commencé à pleuvoir. On se met sous un arbre pour s'abriter avec le parapluie.

Oui mais la pluie ici c'est quelque chose.
Séb avait son appareil photo sans housse étanche donc on flippait un peu alors qu'on commençait à être complètement trempé.
On est donc allé dans des toilettes avec d'autres gens pour nous servir d'abris et on a attendu ...

Prendre une douche tout habillé, c'est exactement l'état dans lequel on était ...
La pluie a fini par s'arrêter mais un Mr nous a dit qu'un autre orage arrivait dans 30 min.

Aller au musée dans notre état n'était plus possible ! On a donc repris le ferry dans le sens inverse et sommes rentrés à l'appart prendre une douche chaude !

Super samedi n'est ce pas ?

Dimanche

C'est le grand jour !
On stresse un peu mais on est motivé.

Mais tout cela n'est pas sans compter sur la météo du jour et notre malchance des derniers temps ...

This weekend was really calm because sunday was the day, D-day, our half marathon day.

Yes, I registered myself and Seb followed !

Saturday


Lot of rest today ... Seb took the opportunity to get up to speed with his pictures editing.
We planned our futur trips...
And at the beginning of the afternoon, we decided to return to GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art) to see David Lynch exposure.

We took the ferry, our favourite public transport. We are so good on the Brisbane River ;-)

Far away, we could see big and black clouds and we thought, optimistically, we chose the right activity : we will be dry in the gallery...

But to be dry, we had to be there before the rain. Right after hopping off the ferry, it began to rain. We waited a little bit under a tree wity our (small) umbrella. We were all wet quickly but we had to protect Seb's camera without waterproof bag.
We went to the public toilet as a shed with other people and we were waiting... 5/6 people on average inside 1 toilet was kinda funny...

Take a shower all dressed, that was exactly as we were ...
The rain finally stopped but a guy told us a new storm was coming in 30 minutes.

Going to a gallery all wet wasn't possible so we took the ferry back home and had a hot shower !

Great saturday, I know right ?

Sunday

It's the big day, D-day... !
We were a little bit anxious but really motivated !

But during the day, it rained a lot, then it stopped at 1pm and restarted again at 4:55 pm.
Our half marathon began at 5pm. Great.
So we began to run under a strong rain. We were already wet while waiting for the start.
We ran again and again. Some people told us to be careful because a waterfall flew on our path... We had to cross this little torential river.
I was trying to avoid puddle at the beginning but at some point it wasn't possible anymore. 
At some point, the water was high enough to arrive at our calves.
It was crazy.

Around 7km, we heard thunders. Torrential rain fell on us... 

At the next water station, a guy told us that the half marathon has been canceled due to the rain, we had to finish the 10km race and that will be it :-/

We were so disappointed ... We were in training since almost 9 months ... 

I won't stop there and will do my half marathon. 

I'm looking for the next one ...
